🌟 General Manzoor's encounter was controversial and accidental.

🌟 General Manzoor ✒ 

He was a heroic freedom fighter and sector commander.

But he was somewhat leftist, that is, somewhat communist - but as radical a communist as Colonel Taher and Major Jalil.

This is the reason, President Zia dismissed General Manzur from Dhaka and sent him to the Chittagong Cantonment without killing.

🌟 Thus The Encounter ✒ 

General Manzoor fled the cantonment in fear after President Zia was assassinated by some misguided officers. 

He was later arrested and brought back to the cantonment. 

He was arrested and was being patrolled in a car when he was shot in the head with a pistol. 

The only reason given for this incident was that, General Manzoor had been killed by the above order. 

🌟 Trial of murderers ✒ 

Those who assassinated President Zia were brought to justice. 

But General Manzoor was killed in the encounter without trial. 

🌟 The supreme ruler ✒ 

After the assassination of President Zia, then Army Chief General Ershad took control of power without delay. 

So naturally the top ruler was either General Ershad or someone loyal to him. 

Apart from that, who was there at that time, on whose orders a hero, sector commander and major general were shot in the head with a pistol openly in the cantonment ? 

That may not be known anymore. Because the then army chief Mr. Ershad is dead today.

🌟 জেনারেল মঞ্জুরের এনকাউন্টার ছিলো বিতর্কিত ও আকস্মিক ঘটনা।

🌟 জেনারেল মঞ্জুর ✒

তিনি ছিলেন বীরোত্তম মুক্তিযোদ্ধা ও সেক্টর কমান্ডার।

কিন্তু তিনি কিছুটা বামপন্থী অর্থাৎ , কিছুটা কমিউনিস্ট ছিলেন - তবে কর্নেল তাহের আর মেজর জলিলের মতো ততোটা উগ্র কমিউনিস্ট ছিলেন।

এই কারণেই জেনারেল মঞ্জুরকে হত্যা না করিয়ে প্রেসিডেন্ট জিয়া চট্টগ্রামের ক্যান্টনমেন্টের দায়িত্ব দিয়ে ঢাকা থেকে বিদায় করে দিয়েছিলেন।

🌟 যেভাবে এনকাউন্টার ✒ 

প্রেসিডেন্ট জিয়াকে কিছু বিপথগামী অফিসার হত্যা করার পরে জেনারেল মঞ্জুর ভয় পেয়ে ক্যান্টনমেন্ট থেকে পালিয়েছিলেন। 

পরে তিনিকে গ্রেফতার করে আবার ক্যান্টনমেন্টে ফেরত আনা হয়েছিলো। 

তিনিকে গ্রেফতার করে গাড়িতে উঠিয়ে টহল দেয়া হচ্ছিলো , এমন সময় তিনির মাথায় পিস্তল ঠেকিয়ে গুলি করে হত্যা করা হয়। 

এই ঘটনার কারণ হিসেবে শুধু বলা হয়েছিলো , উপরের হুকুমেই জেনারেল মঞ্জুরকে হত্যা করা হয়েছে। 

🌟 খুনিদের বিচার ✒ 

প্রেসিডেন্ট জিয়াকে যারা হত্যা করেছিলো তাদের বিচার হয়েছিলো। 

কিন্তু জেনারেল মঞ্জুরকে বিচার না করে এনকাউন্টারে হত্যা করা হয়েছিলো। 

🌟 উপরের হুকুমদাতা ✒ 

প্রেসিডেন্ট জিয়ার হত্যাকাণ্ডের পরে তখনের সেনাপ্রধান জেনারেল এরশাদ দেরি না করে ক্ষমতার নিয়ন্ত্রণ নিয়েছিলেন। 

তাই স্বাভাবিকভাবেই উপরের হুকুমদাতা ছিলেন জেনারেল এরশাদ অথবা তিনির বিশ্বস্ত কোন ব্যক্তি। 

এমনটা ছাড়া সেই সময়ে কে ছিলো , যার হুকুমে একজন বীরোত্তম , সেক্টর কমান্ডার এবং মেজর জেনারেলকে ক্যান্টনমেন্টে প্রকাশ্যে মাথায় পিস্তল দিয়ে গুলি করা হয়েছিলো ? 

সেটা হয়তো আর জানা হবে না। কেননা সেই সময়ের সেনাপ্রধান এরশাদ সাহেব আজ মৃত।
