🌟 Big murder in small misguidance ✒
The noise of some of the soldiers in the discussion of the officers was a small kind of misguidance.
🌟 Momentary deviation ✒
The soldiers had no plans to carry out such killings before, so it was a momentary deviation.
🌟 The way the BDR revolt happened ✒
The officers were meeting on February 25, 2009 in the auditorium of the BDR headquarters at Peelkhana in Dhaka city.
Then after hearing the noise of some soldiers, DG (Director General) Major General Shakil Ahmed told them, "If you have something to say, come and say ....."
Then a senior soldier went a little closer to Mr. Shakil. But then a soldier came to there with a rifle and took Mr. Shakil hostage. Shortly afterwards, the killing of the officers started under the leadership of DAD Touhid.
This is how the murder was carried out in a misguided manner.
🌟 Security meeting ✒
That meeting was very secure. No outsider, not even a soldier or officer from any other cantonment had the opportunity to visit.
In other words, the meeting was going on after ensuring all kinds of security.
🌟 There was no forecast ✒
No civilian, let alone any military or nonmilitary intelligence agency in Bangladesh, knew that such a massacre would take place on that day.
If any intelligence had known, would have tried hard to resist.
🌟 Killing for rice and pulses ✒
As much as I was shocked by the murder, I was even more amazed by the motive behind the murder.
The purpose of their murder was to gain the right to pulses and rice.
In other words, they meant that they could not eat properly, so they committed the murder.
The matter is amazing.
🌟 Complaint against Mr. DG Shakil ✒
Covering their own faces with cloth, some BDR soldiers came to the gate of Peelkhana after the murder.
Among them, the leader-type soldier told other people standing outside the gate that Mr. DG Shakil had embezzled crores of taka from the money allotted for the soldiers and in other cases from the BDR's reserved Bajed.
🌟 Weapons looting ✒
Some more soldiers broke the lock of the BDR's ammunition depot and looted the weapons, creating a chaotic atmosphere.
🌟 Panic ✒
The panic of the BDR mutiny gradually spread across the country.
Even that panic spread among the common people. Many even thought that a more serious military coup was about to take place in Bangladesh.
🌟 Trying to escape the rebels ✒
Many of the rebels tried to flee after the killings - but were arrested.
🌟 Solidarity of soldiers of other camps ✒
At that time, some soldiers from other camps joined the rebellion. However, they did not carry out the killings like the rebels themselves.
🌟 Dismissed from the employment ✒
Those in other camps who joined the BDR mutiny were later suspended. However, no major punishment was given.
🌟 Complete internal homicide ✒
As a historian, I think there was never any civil or political distant connection with that murder, nor was there any indirect contact with any other military officer outside Peelkhana.
🌟 The most brutal murder in history ✒
Bangladesh is the only country in the world where such killings may not have taken place.
Although there were killings during the war, this did not happen suddenly through the revolt of the soldiers.
🌟 Speeches of politicians ✒
After the assassination, the then Home Minister, the late Sahara Khatun, and many others, including Mirza Azam and Jahangir Kabir Nanak, addressed the Peelkhana. But the purpose of everyone's speech was to call for the surrender of the rebels.
🌟 That day I (Junayed Ashrafur Rahman) ✒
That day I was at my house https://parg.co/bPB7 at the corner of Hospital in Nandail Municipality, 5 Number ward, Mymensingh. I did not know that the meeting was being held at the BDR camp in Peelkhana.
That day I heard the news while writing on my laptop. At first it seemed unbelievable to me.
🌟 BDR to BGB ✒
Due to that murder, the new DG of BDR weared army uniform.
He said, the BDR's clothes were stained with blood. So he will do his duty wearing army uniform ..... .
Later the name of BDR was changed to BGB and the clothes were also changed.
🌟 Safe public ✒
Despite the mass killings, there was no harm to the people of Bangladesh other than spreading panic.

🌟 ছোট বিপথগামিতায় বড় হত্যাকাণ্ড ✒
অফিসারদের আলোচনার মধ্যে কতিপয় সৈনিকের হৈচৈ ছিল ছোট ধরনের বিপথগামিতা।
🌟 ক্ষণিকের বিপথগামিতা ✒
আগে থেকে ঐরকম হত্যাকাণ্ড ঘটানোর তেমন কোন পরিকল্পনা সৈনিকদের ছিলনা , তাই সেটা ছিল ক্ষণিকের বিপথগামিতা।
🌟 যেভাবে হয়েছিল বিডিআর বিদ্রোহ ✒
2009 সালের 25 ফেব্রুয়ারি ঢাকা শহরের পিলখানায় বিডিআরের সদর দপ্তরের অডিটরিয়ামে অফিসারদের মিটিং হচ্ছিল।
তখন কতিপয় সৈনিকের হৈচৈ শুনার পরে ডিজি (মহাপরিচালক) মেজর জেনারেল শাকিল আহমেদ তাদেরকে বলেছিলেন , "আপনাদের কিছু বলার থাকলে আসেন এবং বলেন .....।"
তখন শাকিল সাহেবের কিছুটা কাছে একজন সিনিয়র সৈনিক গিয়েছিলেন। কিন্তু তখনই একজন সৈনিক রাইফেল নিয়ে সেস্হানে উপস্থিত হয় এবং শাকিল সাহেবকে জিম্মি করে। এর কিছুক্ষণ পরেই ডিএডি তৌহিদের নেতৃত্বে শুরু হয় অফিসারদেরকে হত্যাকাণ্ড।
এভাবেই বিপথগামী হয়ে হত্যাকাণ্ড ঘটানো হয়েছিল।
🌟 নিরাপত্তায় মিটিং ✒
সেই মিটিংটা ছিল অত্যন্ত নিরাপত্তায়। বাইরের কোন সিভিল ব্যক্তি বটেই , এমনকি অন্যকোন ক্যান্টনমেন্টের সৈনিক অথবা অফিসারের সেস্হানে যাওয়ার সুযোগ ছিল না।
অর্থাৎ , সকল ধরনের নিরাপত্তা নিশ্চিত করেই ঐ মিটিং চলছিল।
🌟 কোন ধরনের পূর্বাভাস ছিল না ✒
সেদিন ঐরকম হত্যাকাণ্ড চালানো হবে , সেটা সিভিল কোন ব্যক্তি দূরের কথা , বাংলাদেশের সামরিক অথবা বেসামরিক গোয়েন্দা সংস্থার কেউই জানতেন না।
যদি জানতেন , তবে অবশ্যই প্রতিহত করার অনেক চেষ্টা করতেন।
🌟 ডাল - ভাতের জন্য হত্যাকাণ্ড ✒
আমি যতটুকু অবাক হয়েছিলাম সেই হত্যাকাণ্ডে , এর চেয়ে বেশি আশ্চর্য হয়েছিলাম ঐ হত্যাকাণ্ডের উদ্দেশ্যের কারণে।
তাদের ঐ হত্যাকাণ্ডের উদ্দেশ্য ছিল ডাল - ভাতের অধিকার অর্জন।
অর্থাৎ , এর দ্বারা ওরা এটাই বুঝাতে চাচ্ছিল যে , ওরা ঠিক মত খাইতে পায় না , তাই ঐ হত্যাকাণ্ড ঘটিয়েছে।
বিষয়টা আশ্চর্যজনকই বটে।
🌟 ডিজি শাকিল সাহেবের বিরুদ্ধে অভিযোগ ✒
কাপড় দিয়ে মুখ আবৃত করে কয়েকজন বিডিআর সৈনিক হত্যাকাণ্ডের পরে পিলখানার গেইটে এসে উপস্থিত হয়।
ওদের মধ্যে নেতা টাইপের সৈনিকটা গেইটের বাইরে দাঁড়ানো অন্যান্য ব্যক্তিদেরকে বলেছিল , সৈনিকদের জন্য বরাদ্দ করা টাকা এবং অন্যান্য ক্ষেত্রে বিডিআরের সংরক্ষিত বাজেদ থেকে ডিজি শাকিল সাহেব কোটি কোটি টাকা আত্মসাৎ করেছেন .....।
🌟 অস্র লুটপাট ✒
আরও কিছু সৈনিক বিডিআরের অস্রাগারের গুদামের তালা ভেঙ্গে অস্র লুটপাট করে অরাজক পরিবেশ তৈরি করেছিল।
🌟 আতঙ্ক ✒
বিডিআর বিদ্রোহের আতঙ্ক ক্রমে ক্রমে সারাদেশে ছড়িয়েছিল।
এমনকি সেই আতঙ্ক সাধারণ জনগণের মধ্যেও ছড়িয়েছিল। এমনকি অনেকেই এটা মনে করেছিলেন যে , বাংলাদেশে আগের চেয়েও মারাত্মক সেনা অভ্যুত্থান ঘটতে চলেছে।
🌟 বিদ্রোহীদের পালানোর চেষ্টা ✒
হত্যাকাণ্ড ঘটানোর পরে বিদ্রোহীদের অনেকেই পালানোর চেষ্টা করেছিল - কিন্তু গ্রেফতার হয়েছিল।
🌟 অন্যান্য ক্যাম্পের সৈনিকদের একাত্মতা ✒
সেই সময়ে অন্যান্য ক্যাম্পের কিছু কিছু সৈনিক ঐ বিদ্রোহের সঙ্গে একাত্ম হয়েছিল , অর্থাৎ সমর্থন করেছিল। তবে নিজেরা বিদ্রোহীদের মত হত্যাকাণ্ড ঘটায়নি।
🌟 চাকরি থেকে বরখাস্ত ✒
অন্যান্য ক্যাম্পের যারা বিডিআর বিদ্রোহের সঙ্গে একাত্ম হয়েছিল , তাদেরকে পরে চাকরি থেকে বরখাস্ত করা হয়েছিল। তবে বড় ধরনের শাস্তি দেয়া হয়নি।
🌟 সম্পূর্ণ অভ্যন্তরীণ হত্যাকাণ্ড ✒
একজন ঐতিহাসিক হিসেবে আমার মনে হয় , সেই হত্যাকাণ্ডের সঙ্গে কখনই কোন সিভিল অথবা রাজনীতিক দূরের কথা , পিলখানার বাইরের অন্যকোন সামরিক অফিসারের পরোক্ষভাবেও যোগাযোগ ছিল না।
🌟 ইতিহাসের নির্মম হত্যাকাণ্ড ✒
বাংলাদেশ তো বটেই পৃথিবীর অন্যকোন দেশে হয়ত ঐরকম হত্যাকাণ্ড ঘটেনি।
যুদ্ধের মধ্যে হত্যাকাণ্ড ঘটলেও হঠাৎ করে সৈনিকদের বিদ্রোহের মাধ্যমে এমনটা ঘটেনি।
🌟 রাজনীতিকদের ভাষণ ✒
হত্যাকাণ্ডের পরের দিন পিলখানার সামনে গিয়ে তখনের স্বরাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী প্রয়াত সাহারা খাতুন এবং মির্জা আজম , জাহাঙ্গীর কবির নানকসহ অনেকেই নিজেদের মত করে ভাষণ দিয়েছিলেন। তবে প্রত্যেকের ভাষণের উদ্দেশ্য ছিল বিদ্রোহীদের আত্মসমর্পণের আহ্বান করা।
🌟 সেদিন আমি (জুনায়েদ আশরাফুর রহমান) ✒
সেদিন আমি ময়মনসিংহের নান্দাইল পৌরসভার পাঁচ নং ওয়ার্ডের হসপিটাল মোড়ে অবস্থিত আমার বাড়িতেই https://parg.co/bPB7 ছিলাম। পিলখানার বিডিআর ক্যাম্পে মিটিং হচ্ছিল সেটাই আমার জানা ছিলনা।
সেদিন আমি আমার ল্যাপটপে লেখা অবস্হায় সংবাদটা শুনতে পেয়েছিলাম। শুনার পরে বিষয়টা আমার কাছে প্রথমে অবিশ্বাস্য মনে হয়েছিল।
🌟 বিডিআর থেকে বিজিবি ✒
ঐ হত্যাকাণ্ডের কারণে বিডিআরের নতুন ডিজি সেনাবাহিনীর পোশাক পরিধান করেই দায়িত্ব গ্রহণ করেছিলেন।
তিনি বলেছিলেন , বিডিআরের পোশাকে রক্ত লেগে আছে। তাই তিনি সেনাবাহিনীর পোশাক পরিধান করেই ডিউটি করবেন .....।
পরে বিডিআরের নাম পরিবর্তন করে বিজিবি রাখা হয় এবং পোশাকও পরিবর্তন করা হয়।
🌟 নিরাপদ জনসাধারণ ✒
বিরাট হত্যাকাণ্ড হওয়া সত্ত্বেও আতঙ্ক ছড়ানো ছাড়া বাংলাদেশের জনসাধারণের অন্যকোন ক্ষতি হয়নি।
