মুক্তিযুদ্ধের সময় জেনারেল জিয়া চট্টগ্রামে ছিলেন। এই কারণেই তিনিকে কালুরঘাট বেতার কেন্দ্রে নেওয়া হয়েছিলো স্বাধীনতার ঘোষণাপত্র পাঠ করার জন্য।


তিনি যদি তখন চট্টগ্রামে না থাকতেন, তবে ঘোষণাপত্র পাঠ করতে পারতেন না।


🌟 বঙ্গবন্ধুর স্নেহ ✒


হ্যাঁ। বঙ্গবন্ধুর স্নেহ প্রাপ্তিটাও ছিলো জেনারেল জিয়ার সৌভাগ্য।


তখন জেনারেল উসমানী, জেনারেল শফিউল্লাহ ও অন্যান্য সেনা অফিসারদের তুলনায় জেনারেল জিয়া বেশ ভালোই স্নেহ পেয়েছিলেন।


ফলে অন্যান্য সেনা অফিসারদের কাছে জেনারেল জিয়া সমীহ করার মতো ব্যক্তি ছিলেন।


🌟 সেনাপ্রধান নিয়োগ ✒


বঙ্গবন্ধুর হত্যার পরে সেনাবাহিনীর অভ্যন্তরীণ কোন্দলের মধ্যে জেনারেল জিয়ার সেনাপ্রধান হিসেবে নিয়োগ ছিলো একটা অপ্রত্যাশিত ঘটনা। বলা চলে, এটা ছিলো জেনারেল জিয়ার অন্যতম সৌভাগ্য।

তিন নভেম্বরের বিদ্রোহের মাধ্যমে জেনারেল খালেদের অনুসারীদের দ্বারা জেনারেল জিয়া বন্দী হয়েছিলেন ।


সাত নভেম্বরে কর্নেল তাহের আর মেজর জলিলের নেতৃত্বে পাল্টা বিদ্রোহ ঘটানো হয়েছিলো।


এবং জেনারেল খালেদকে হত্যা করে জেনারেল জিয়াকে ক্ষমতায় সংযোজন করা হয়েছিলো।


এর মাধ্যমেই জেনারেল জিয়া দেশে সেনা শাসন চালু করেছিলেন।


🌟 সেনাপ্রধান থেকে রাষ্ট্রপ্রধান ✒


পরে তিনি সেনাপ্রধান থেকে রাষ্ট্রপ্রধান হয়ে রাষ্ট্রের সর্বোচ্চ ক্ষমতার অধিকারী হয়েছিলেন।
