When Hefazat-e-Islam attacked Dhaka in 2013, the BNP's movement against the government was also going on.
As a result, Hefazat's movement became quite convenient for the BNP.
But when the Awami League formed the government again in 2014, the activities of Hefazat started decreasing again.
Later, a balance is maintained between the government and Hifazat, Hifazat's favorable relationship with the BNP diminished.
But Hifazat started the movement again on the occasion of sculpture and the arrival of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
As a result, Hefazat's conflict with the government of the country started again.
But the situation of this time was different. Although the rise of Hefazat in 2013 was convenient for the BNP, but this time it became a big obstacle for the BNP politics.
Because, this time Hefazat started a movement for direct political power.
As a result, Hefazat behaved like the main opposition party in Bangladesh. At that time the BNP had to remain almost silent.
The situation was such that it was very difficult for the BNP to do politics without appeasing Hefazat.
But Hifazat had to remain silent after the arrest of senior Hifazat leaders due to anti-government activities.

"শুরুতে হেফাজতের উত্থান বিএনপির জন্য সুবিধাজনক হলেও পরবর্তীতে হেফাজত পরিণত হয়েছিল বিএনপির জন্য বড় বাঁধায়।"
২০১৩ সালে যখন হেফাজতে ইসলাম ঢাকা এ্যাটাক করেছিল, তখন সরকারের বিরুদ্ধে বিএনপির আন্দোলনও চলছিল।
ফলে হেফাজতের আন্দোলন বিএনপির জন্য বেশ সুবিধাজনক হয়েছিল।
কিন্তু ২০১৪ সালে যখন আওয়ামীলীগ আবার সরকার গঠন করে, তখন থেকেই হেফাজতের কর্মকাণ্ড আবার কমতে থাকে।
আরো পরে সরকার আর হেফাজতের মধ্যে এক ধরনের ভারসাম্য রক্ষা হলে বিএনপির সঙ্গে হেফাজতের সুবিধাজনক সম্পর্ক কমতে থাকে।
কিন্তু ভাস্কর্য ও ভারতের প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদির আগমন উপলক্ষ্যে হেফাজত আবার আন্দোলন শুরু করে।
ফলে দেশের সরকারের সঙ্গে হেফাজতের আবার দ্বন্দ্ব শুরু হয়।
তবে এবারেব অবস্থাটা ছিল অন্যরকম। যদিও ২০১৩ সালে হেফাজতের উত্থান ছিল বিএনপির জন্য সুবিধাজনক , কিন্তু এবার সেটা হয়ে গেল বিএনপির রাজনীতির জন্য বড় বাঁধা।
কেননা, এবার হেফাজত সরাসরি রাজনৈতিক ক্ষমতার জন্য আন্দোলন শুরু করেছিল।
ফলে হেফাজতের আচরণ ছিল বাংলাদেশের প্রধান বিরোধী দলের মত। সেই সময়টাতে বিএনপিকে প্রায় নীরব থাকতে হয়েছিল।
অবস্থাটা এমন ছিল যে, হেফাজতকে তুষ্ট না করে বিএনপির রাজনীতি করাটা অত্যন্ত কঠিন।
কিন্তু সরকার বিরোধী কর্মকাণ্ডের কারণে হেফাজতের বড় নেতাদেরকে গ্রেফতারের পর হেফাজতকে নীরব হতে হয়েছিল।
বর্তমানে হেফাজতমুক্ত রাজনীতিতে বিএনপি অনেকটা আরামেই রাজনৈতিক কর্মকাণ্ড চালাচ্ছে। ©️All Right Reserved by Junayed Ashrafur Rahman
